Subject: 20317/SpecComm/Isham,etal/HumaneSociety Date: Tue, 3 Jul 1990 17:16:00 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 20317 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF JIMMY ISHAM, DONALD JACKSON, JOHN PITNER, AND BENNY WILLIAMS AS SPECIAL POLICEMEN FOR THE HUMANE EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY OF CHATTANOOGA, TO DO SPECIAL DUTY AS PRESCRIBED HEREIN, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Jimmy Isham, Donald Jackson, John Pitner, and Benny Williams be and are hereby appointed as special policemen in their positions as Deputy Poundkeepers of the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga, subject to certain conditions and restrictions: 1. That said special policemen shall have, possess and exercise every power granted by the statutes of the State of Tennessee or the City of Chattanooga to regular police officers of the City of Chattanooga necessary in the performance of their duties; provided that said special policemen shall not be authorized to carry a firearm. Such powers and performance of duties by said special policemen are expressly limited to the performance of duties in their positions as Deputy Poundkeepers of the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga. 2. That said special policemen shall not be considered employees of the Department of Safety, nor shall they be entitled to any benefits afforded regular police officers of the City, and 0C shall in all respects be considered employees of the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga. 3. That such appointments shall expire upon termination of said special policemen's employment by the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga. Notwithstanding any other provision herein, the City Council of the City of Chattanooga shall have the right to cancel such appointment at any time. ADOPTED: August 16, 1994 :cjc
